Wonder Food Adventure with 1Utama & The Butterfly Project!

01:06

1Utama, the World's 4th Largest Mall has always been my favorite place to hang out since I first came to PJ.
When it comes to deciding where to eat, I am always the one that couldn't decide and ended up spending about half an hour wandering at 1 Utama Food Street. Thanks to 1Utama and The Butterfly Project, I was given opportunity to try out 15 participating restaurants in 1Utama in conjunction with 1 Utama Wonder Food event. It was such an amazing event where 50 of us get to explore variety of eateries in 1Utama for free!
Here's the list of participating outlet:
LG Promenade: SS2 Goreng Pisang, Ninja Joe, Seaweed Club, I Love Yoo, Eat & Happy Yong Tau Foo, Oyster King, Bisou, Mr Cendol, Pao Xiang Bak Kut Teh, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights.
LG Highstreet: Lameeya, BBQ Chicken, Food Box, Vivo American Pizza and Panini, and Lava.
Let me introduce to you, my makan partner of the day, Chocky from http://chocky-chok.blogspot.com/
If you don't know where to go, just follow the path and you'll find the food heaven in 1Utama!
Keep reading to get to know my makan journey of the day ;)
I simply classified the participating outlet according to my preference.
It might sound funny but I think it just kind of make sense for me! LOL!
Yummy street food that no one can resist!
1.SS2 Goreng Pisang
SS2 Goreng Pisang is where you get to eat the all time favorite street food such as fried banana, fried tofu, fried sweet potato and so on. The original SS2 Goreng Pisang truck is still there opposite of CIMB bank SS2 but now you can have it in the 1Utama shopping mall itself.
2. Oyster King
Anything related with oyster always remind me of Penang street food! The Oyster King is halal, and they offer not only oyster but other seafood as well like lala. I was amazed by their garlic oyster. No worries it taste perfectly okay because they are not raw.
3. Mr.Cendol
Cendol has always been my favorite since young! My mum likes it too anyways so she wouldn't stop me hehehe! The ice flake so was fine that makes it different from the street cendol we usually have. Sort of "premium version" cendol.
Hot and soupy for a rainy day!
4. I Love Yoo
Warm soya with hot porridge and you tiao! Forever the best match! Whenever I couldn't decide what to have in shopping mall, I Love Yoo is always the last resolution!
5. Eat & Happy Yong Tau Foo
I love to have Yong Tau Foo when I don't really have appetite. You can just pick what you would like to have and put them in hot soup. Simple as that!
6. Pao Xiang Bak Kut Teh
I have tried the Pao Xiang Bak Kut Teh in Klang and I'm surprised that there's another branch in 1Utama! It taste the same and if you're staying in PJ, here's where you get to taste the awesome Bak Kut Teh without travelling to Klang!
KPOP fever!
7. BBQ Chicken
Before you ask what is so special with BBQ Chicken, let me tell you it's imported from Korea! Win already isn't? I bet KPOP fans know them well! Their food are all cook with olive oil so it's much healthier and you won't feel that guilty for having too much fried chicken!
Ahh, we met up with another 3 makan partners, Rane, Swee San, and Ashley here!
8. Ko Hyang
If you're a fan of Korean Cuisine, don't miss this out as it's tasty and reasonably priced! Their signature dish Bi Bim Bap always get full star review from Bloggers.
American Style for today!
9. Vivo American Pizza and Panini's
Their signature dishes are Baked Chicken Chop, Pizza and everyone's favorite dessert, Volcanic Chocolate Cake. You can get good coffee as well so coffee lover, here's your heaven ;)
10. Ninja Joe
Well I know Ninja Joeis Japanese burger but, let's just categorized it under American Style since its burger, haha! Ninja Joe offers pork burger so yea it's non-halal. The one I had was Hikkori Burger, there's pork patty and bacon in it.
Oh how I miss the home cook dishes!
11. Lammeeya
Besides their signature Lam Mee, Lammeeya also offers variety home cook dishes such as Vinegar Pig Trotters and Ginger Wine Omelette. Here's definitely my stop for comforting food when I have serious homesick. Oh ya, it's non-halal.

12. Food Box
Food Box is non-halal. You can get traditional chinese snack such as rice bowl cake here at Food Box. They also offer local cuisine such as Curry Mee and Braised Ginger Pork.
Tea time!
13. Seaweed Club
This is my favorite, like seriously! We had so much food and extremely full that time. The vege rolled with seaweed and the tea they served were so comforting and refreshing! We couldn't stop recommending this restaurant to other people and we did chill here for quite some time haha! Nice place for girls to hang out and chit chat!
We had the raspberry tea and spicy vege roll. I would say its such a perfect match! Thumbs up!
14. Bisou
Bisou mean "kisses" in French. The set up is lovely isn't? If you happen to pass by, don't forget to snap a photo! Here's where you can get cupcakes, cookies and customized cake. Their cakes not only look good, but taste good as well!
15. Lava
The last station of the journey today, the Lava. Their signature is the Cinnamon Sugar Churros. They will fried it on the spot for you as churros taste best when it's still hot! They offers macaroon and variety of drinks so it's a nice place to have tea time with family and friends.
After completing our makan journey, we proceed to enjoy Wonder Fun activities prepared by 1Utama. By spending RM50 (ONECARD member) or RM80 at any food and beverage outlet we get to enjoy fun activities prepared by 1Utama! I did tattoo on my arms and behind my ears. Just for fun lah hahaha!
Here's my report card! Alright my diet plan has gone too far far far away forget it.
Feel so proud of myself for eating so much food!
Honestly, I didn't feel hungry at all until the next day evening, no kidding!
Another bonus for us that day is getting the One Card!
With One Card, I get to pay a cheaper parking rate as compared to normal parking ticket. *wink wink* Also, I get to park at Preferred Parking or Premium Parking areas now hahahaha!
